HISTORY

The Guide Right Foundation of Dallas, Inc. (GRFD) was established in 1984, as a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the inner city community from within by providing community services, organizational support and educational scholarships for disadvantaged young men and citizens in the city of Dallas.
In 1990 the GRFD purchased its current facility, located in the heart of South Dallas and renovated and upgraded the building in 2010 to better accommodate the larger number of program participants. In 2005 the GRFD was recognized locally for being an outstanding community service organization.
In 2010 and 2011 the mentoring program sponsored by the GRFD was recognized as regional and national program of the year. Several former participants in the mentoring program have become attorneys, CPAs, coaches, financial advisors etc. Since its inception the GRFD has enjoyed a 100% high school graduation rate and has awarded over $150,000 in college scholarships.
Since its inception, through various fundraisers and collaborations with the corporate community and other organizations, the foundation has been able to expand the horizons of many deserving youth and by consistently providing unique services and “hands-on” community involvement.
